As with most community minded organizations, it takes capital to fuel the engine and to offer the many invaluable opportunities curated for people to enjoy. Senior Services of Van Buren County is no exception to this rule, and in doing so, came up with the idea of a literal “giving tree” in which donations given would acquire a leaf or bird to be added to the tree. The tree itself, was painted in their logo color by artist, Kayla Wyszynski Ridley, as a backdrop to the sculpted birds and leaves created by artist, Kathy Kreager. A calligrapher in house would then inscribe a few words on each sculptural element in conjunction to the person or group who had made the donation. The tree continues to come alive as more support rallies.
