Found on the City Hall building in downtown Jackson, MI, this mural was completed during the Jackson Bright Walls Festival in 2019. Mural artists from all over the world participated in the festival, and I was juried in as one of the Michigan artists to paint along their ranks. The festival lasted a total of six days in which all murals were started and completed. It was a true community event featuring live music, local food, art making contests, and much more. I was able to create a mural alongside other artists, which is a rare opportunity, and bridge connections with fellow muralists from all over the world. Buddy’s retreat depicts my beagle, “Buddy”, pausing to take a break during a hike with a tall cascading waterfall behind him.
