Our Town Players, a local non profit in southwest Michigan, puts on a number of theatrical plays, musicals, and events each year. One such year, they took on the literary genius of J.R.R. Tolkien in his masterpiece, “The Hobbit”. As a long time fan and enthusiast of his work and the theatrical productions stemmed from it, I was excited at the opportunity to help bring this world to life on stage. I drew inspiration from the book illustrations and narratives as well as the cinematic universe to create the backdrop for numerous scenes in the play. The entire cast and crew curated multiple stellar performances and I was honored to play a part in their success.
