Sesquicentennial Trail

The City of South Haven celebrated its sesquicentennial (aka its 150th anniversary) in 2019. As a way to commemorate the milestone, this trail was born. The city in conjunction with the visitors bureau coordinated a series of events throughout the year to celebrate the anniversary. I met with the sesquicentennial committee numerous times to tailer what should be represented in the artwork. Thanks to their insight, a myriad of books, and the digital database of the Historical Association of South Haven, I worked to illustrate a series of mixed media drawings that highlighted South Haven’s rich past up until the anniversary. The artwork was scanned and digitally printed to be mounted on 11 pedestals spread throughout the park creating a walking tour throughout our history.
