Sawyer's Passage Mural

Divided into four panels, this mural took 4 seasons to complete and depicts local landscapes in vibrant blocky colors. The subject of the initial panel is a young boy on a tricycle and as the scenes transition from one panel to the next, so does the landscape as if to mirror the curious imagination of a young child and the very real adventures that await them. This mural was funded by the South Haven Area Mural Project (Sh-amp) and adorns the side of two local businesses, Rock’n’Road Cycle and Crescent Moon in South Haven, Michigan. The models for the figures in the painting are my nephew, Sawyer and his father, Kevan. The moon and stars serve as a sculptural component created by local artist, Kathy Kreager.
